They're real quiet and work pretty well past the filter. SLI is adding a second card to work together at 80-95% effeciency. Pea sized is typically too much for an Intel CPU. I want something silent (that's why I went for the Design series) yet solid airflow (I was looking at the CM HAF series).

Inexpensive ones usually have integrated antennae, while more expensive ones have discrete antennae for better performance.
