I unplugged battery- waited 3 minutes… Put battery back in… plugged everything back in, to include all USB AND POWER. I can get to boot menu and it works fine if I hit the f12 key when it starts up. This worked for me. My pen drive works in one of my 4 front USB connectors, and the same goes for my wireless dongle, and so on, and so on. The USB ports are now working. It will not recognize my key board or mouse after Windows loads up.. You can go to the PC manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers. Obviously, I did reinstall Windows to rule out the driver problem and then tried Linux. The laptop is an ASUS A52J.
