I've reinstalled Windows 7 and can't get it to work at all, except on one drive on one computer. The desktop cannot join and gives the ‘Windows cannot connect to a Homegroup on this computer'. What a waste of time, as usual. Hard to say from my end but if the extra name is showing up on the "Share With" list then there is an account for that user on that particular machine. I have checked all the settings, etc, per your article. on the home group when i go to "share folder with" option, the laptops have the capability of showing eachother files, the DESKTOP has the capability of JUST the homegroup... I hope not. There Is Currently No Homegroup On The Network I have the laptop added as part of my network.

the laptop i use only has the administrator user, and i have the option of sharing JUST to this laptop... The problem is that only a fraction of my library seems to show up. One is wireless; two are cat5. Make sure the value is set to 0.
